GeoComply has announced the appointment of Steven Vo as the firm’s new chief technology officer (CTO).
Vo transitions to the geolocation supplier’s C-suite nearly five years into his second spell with the company.
He initially joined GeoComply as a director in 2012, before leaving the company in 2015.
Vo rejoined the firm in November 2021 as director of engineering, risk, and antifraud, a role he would hold until September 2022.
He moved to the role of vice-president of engineering in November 2023, before becoming senior vice-president of the department in January 2026.
His roles to this point have involved spearheading the engineering function behind GeoComply’s expansion into financial services, media & entertainment and beyond.
He has also established the “technical direction for how the company’s location, device, and behavioural intelligence adapts to the new technological era of AI”.
During his time away from GeoComply, Vo was a software development manager at Amazon between 2016 and 2019, before taking a role as engineering manager at Uber between July 2019 and November 2021.
As CTO, Vo will be tasked with accelerating GeoComply’s expansion into new verticals, as well as “shaping how GeoComply builds with AI and defends against it”.
Commenting on Vo’s appointment, David Briggs, co-founder and chief product officer at GeoComply, said: “Steven has been building GeoComply’s technology since almost the beginning, and he understands better than anyone where it needs to go next.
“Our customers are moving into new markets and facing fraud that gets smarter every month. Having a CTO who both built the foundation and knows our customers’ technical teams by name is exactly what this next stage calls for. I could not be more excited to have Steven in this role.”
Writing on LinkedIn about his appointment, Vo added: “13 years since I was part of the team that launched New Jersey, almost five since I came back, or as David Briggs likes to say, ‘rescued’ me, from the ‘online bookshop’ and the ‘taxi company’… and it still feels like we are just getting started.
“What I’m most excited about in the new role is honestly the team! Our rockstar engineering and product teams have grown so much these past few years, and I’ve grown right along with them.

Levin’s appointment as CEO in January 2025 was quickly followed up by the firm hiring Marco Stotani as chief business officer in March of the same year.
