Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has named Gavin Isaacs, the former Entain CEO, to its board of directors in an advisory role.
Isaacs, who stepped down from the top job at the Ladbrokes and Coral owner after just five months last February, joins GLI president and CEO James Maida and CVC trio Alexander Heerkens Thijssen, Matt Turner and Zach Kelly on the board.
CVC Strategic Opportunities became GLI’s first external investor in a deal completed in June.
Commenting on Isaacs’ arrival, Maida remarked: “The board and I as CEO have ambitious plans that will further propel GLI globally over the next several years, and Gavin’s decades of experience, vision and history of innovation make him a perfect partner as we move forward.”
Isaacs said he was “excited” to join GLI as it “embarks on its next stage of growth”.
The industry stalwart took his first role in the sector in 1998 when he was named president of slots supplier Aristocrat.

Eight years later, he joined Bally Technologies as its COO, holding the role until March 2011.
He then became CEO of supplier Shuffle Master for two-and-a-half years before moving to Scientific Games in the same role in June 2014.
In January 2019, he joined SBTech as chair of the board, before it was acquired by DraftKings in a $3.3bn three-way merger with a SPAC later that same year and closed in April 2020.
He joined DraftKings as a board member in April 2020 for a year.
After two years with casino supplier Games Global as its chair, from June 2022 to September 2024, he was named CEO of Entain before stepping down “with immediate effect” in February 2025.
