Formula 1 names Betway as first ever official betting partner

Betway has been named as the first ever official betting operator of Formula 1, in a landmark deal for the online firm.

The multi-year partnership with the Super Group-owned brand comes as Formula 1 further engages with the gambling industry.

In February, the motorsport series signed a deal with ALT Sports Data to become its official betting data supplier.

Under the terms of that agreement, the supplier will “develop betting-focused real-time predictive analytics for Formula 1” and provide “proprietary data and priced odds solutions”.

Super Group said the Betway and Formula 1 deal would build on the ALT Sports Data partnership.

Super Group added: “This new partnership unlocks a modern and innovative way for Betway customers to engage with cutting edge metrics that are accurate, consistent and official.

“It will also enable Formula 1 fans to place in-play bets on driver and team strategy – from safety car occurrences, pit windows, on-track battles and more – taking them ever closer to the action.”

In February 2025, Super group sealed a sponsorship deal with the Atlassian Williams F1 Team for the 2025 season.

The group’s Betway and Jackpot City brands appear on the UK-based team’s cars as part of the deal.

The 2026 Formula 1 season is due to start on Sunday, 8 March, with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

“While betting and sport have long gone hand in hand, this new product offering based on real time and regulated data takes Formula 1 into a new cutting-edge dimension that offers event more engagement and excitement for fans.”
