Former GVC Holdings (now Entain) CEO Kenny Alexander and several former colleagues were granted bail in a London court on Monday, 6 October, as they await the opening of their bribery case at the beginning of November.
None of the defendants were asked to enter a plea to any of the charges relating to the operator’s business in Turkey and were granted bail until their next court appearance at Southwark Crown Court on 3 November.
Alexander has been charged with conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to bribe between 2011 and 2018. He left GVC in mid-2020 and the operator announced its rebrand in late-2020, as it sought to underline a fresh start under new management.
Former GVC chair Lee Feldman, legal director Robert Hoskin, finance chief Richard Cooper, trading director James Humberstone and six non-GVC executives are also facing charges related to the Turkey-facing business, which was sold in 2018.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced the charges in August this year, noting it had been working closely with HM Revenue & Customs, which concluded its own investigation into the operator in 2023 that had resulted in a £585m deferred prosecution agreement with Entain.
The Chief Crown Prosecutor for fraud and economic crimes Hannah von Dadelszen said: “The CPS has authorised the prosecution of 11 individuals for seven offences relating to bribery, conspiracy to defraud, fraudulent trading, cheating the public revenue, evasion of income tax, acting as a director when undischarged bankrupt and perverting the course of justice.”
Alexander has said all charges will be contested.
At the time of the charges being announced, Entain acknowledged the case but gave no further comment on its former employees.
