Former Bojoko CEO Joonas Karhu has announced he has left the business following its acquisition by global affiliate operator North Star Network last year.
The deal to purchase Bojoko was completed last February, with Karhu stepping into the role of head of casino at North Star Network.
While with Bojoko, he spent three-and-a-half years as CEO from August 2021 to February 2025.
Prior to that, Karhu was the affiliate’s chief business officer from August 2017 to July 2021.
For a year between September 2016 and September 2017, he was Immense Group’s Finland country manager.
Taking to LinkedIn at the start of 2026, the ex-Bojoko CEO said he was seeking executive-level roles, M&A and transaction-driven positions and regulatory work in the Finnish market.
He announced: “It’s been an incredible journey building Bojoko and its talented team. With my post-acquisition responsibilities now successfully concluded, I’m excited to start exploring new opportunities.
“I bring extensive experience from the gambling industry, combined with strong business and legal education, and I’d be happy to have conversations about roles or collaborations where my background could create value.”
After purchasing Bojoko last February, North Star Network acquired French basketball media platforms, BasketUSA.com and BasketEurope.com. The group’s other brands include Sports Mole, Football Whispers and Trivela.
