Flutter Entertainment’s former head of football trading, Harrison Maxwell, has moved to LSports as the supplier’s new trading director.
Maxwell joins the Israel-based firm after almost eight years of association with Flutter across multiple roles.
He originally joined Sky Betting & Gaming in 2018 to work on the in-play football desk, before rising through the ranks at the operator’s Leeds office.
Flutter bought Sky Betting & Gaming in 2019 when it snapped up The Stars Group.
Maxwell proceeded to relocate to Dublin and take on the head of in-play football for Flutter in October 2022.
He was named head of football in November 2024, before departing the business in November last year.
LSports’ trading department remains headed up by trading group director Itsik Hackmon.
LSports counts the likes of Superbet, Betsson and Entain as partners.
The supplier has also expanded into the prediction markets space in the US, offering a “one-stop solution for prediction data”.
Playtech owns a 49% stake in the supplier, having taken an initial 31% stake in the company for €36.7m in November 2022.
That transaction came after Playtech sold Statscore to LSports in a deal worth a non-cash net consideration of €5.9m.
The initial investment included an option for the FTSE 250 firm to take a further 18% share in the business, with that option exercised in September 2024.
“The principal reason of the acquisition is the attractive opportunity considered by Playtech to increase its footprint in the growing sports data market segment,” Playtech’s 2024 annual report stated.
While Playtech is the largest individual shareholder in the business, the remaining 51% is made up of a related consortium of individuals.
On his appointment, Maxwell said: “[I’m] really excited to be joining LSports as trading director this week.
“I’m looking forward to scaling their trading and risk operation in Dublin and helping to lead the next stage of growth for this incredibly exciting business and its clients.”
