Flutter Entertainment has been named as Cure Leukaemia’s first-ever global charity partner on a three-year agreement worth $4m.

The partnership will run through until 2028, with the monies provided by the New York-listed operator used to hire specialist blood cancer nurses and fund trial treatment programmes.

These include supporting six major clinical trials already set for delivery and helping towards the expansion of the Trials Acceleration Programme from 15 centres to 25.

Flutter has been working with the charity since 2023 and has already raised more than $2.7m for the cause.

As part of the new agreement, the operator will also continue to support cycle charity events, including the London2Paris ride, as a headline supporter.

More than 29,000 Flutter employees across 30 countries will be given the opportunity to take part in fundraising efforts for Cure Leukaemia.

The Paddy Power and FanDuel parent company said the commitment would fit within its broader ESG outlook.

Previous community-focused efforts have included supporting the International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament in Spain last June and the launch of the Tech4Good Awards.

The group also raised more than £1m for Prostate Cancer UK via its Big 180 drive at the World Darts Championship this year.

Kerry McNally, Flutter group head of communities and engagement, said: “This partnership brings together two things that matter deeply to our people.

“The power of sport to bring communities together and the belief that everyone deserves access to better health outcomes. What makes this so powerful is that it is driven by our colleagues. Their energy, commitment and willingness to push themselves to make a difference.

“Becoming Cure Leukaemia’s first global partner allows us to scale that collective effort and deliver real impact for patients around the world.”

James McLaughlin, Cure Leukaemia CEO, added: “Flutter’s support since 2023 has been of pivotal importance in funding pioneering clinical trials with the potential to transform the lives of blood cancer patients across the UK.”
