Flutter Entertainment has appointed Stefan Bomhard as a new non-executive director, effective from 1 October.
The current Imperial Brands CEO will leave his position at the end of September before joining Flutter. He will also leave his post as executive director with the company on 31 December 2025.
In previous roles, Bomhard spent six-and-a-half years between March 2003 and June 2009 with Unilever Food Solutions as its senior vice-president and COO of Europe.
He then joined Cadbury for a little over a year as its chief commercial officer, between July 2009 and September 2010, before moving to Bacardi as its regional president of Europe for four-and-a-half years — from October 2010 to March 2015.
A switch to London-based motor vehicle manufacturing firm Inchcape was next for Bomhard, serving as its group CEO from April 2015 until his departure in June 2020.
He then moved to Imperial Brands, staying with the manufacturing company until his move to Flutter.
He also currently serves as a non-executive director for food and beverage firm Compass Group, initially joining in May 2016.
John Bryant, Flutter board chair, said of the hiring: “Following an extensive search as part of our on-going board renewal process, I am delighted to welcome Stefan as a non-executive director.
“Stefan has significant experience working in international environments, particularly in the operation, sales and marketing of well-known consumer brands.
“We look forward to Stefan joining the board and contributing to Flutter’s future.”
At the start of the month, Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel added former National Council on Problem Gambling executive director Keith Whyte as its new responsible gaming strategic advisor.
The FanDuel parent company reported revenue of $4.2bn (£3.1bn) for the second quarter of 2025, representing a 16% increase year on year.
