On November 12, 2025, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) accepted FanDuel’s parent company, Flutter Entertainment’s license surrender, and approved DraftKings’ withdrawal of its license application.

This news comes at a time when FanDuel is getting ready to launch FanDuel Predict next month with CME, where both companies will share revenue equally.

According to the NGCB, both companies “intended to engage in unlawful activities related to sports event contracts.”

The NGCB wrote:

“This conduct is incompatible with their ability to participate in Nevada’s gaming industry. The board takes seriously its obligation to operate a thriving gaming industry and to protect Nevada citizens.”

Peter Jackson, Flutter CEO, commented:

“We need to protect our interests. And FanDuel Predicts will allow us to go after the half of the market that we haven’t previously been able to go after. Our launch strategy has been developed in close consultation with state regulators and tribal authorities, resulting in a tailored, state-specific approach that enables us to launch in those states where no local regulation exists,” Jackson wrote in a letter to shareholders.

Earlier in November, DraftKings and Flutter were downgraded by Bank of America due to unstable betting margins and rising state taxes.
