Hard Rock Casino NL and the company behind Belgium-facing Blitz and SuperGame have combined to launch a new entity, SpinCore Group, EGR can exclusively reveal.
SpinCore Group, which will be headquartered in Malta, will be headed up by Hard Rock Casino NL CEO Cristiano Blanco.
Blanco became the Netherlands-facing online casino’s boss in December last year.
Hard Rock Casino NL, which licences the Hard Rock Casino brand for use in the Netherlands, secured a licence from the Dutch regulator in May 2024.
He will now lead the combined business which will retain its hubs in the Belgian city of Antwerp and Maastricht in the Netherlands
Blitz has held an online licence in Belgium since 2012, while SuperGame was approved in 2014.
SpinCore Group is also planning on applying for a Finnish licence to move into the market once it switches from a monopoly to commercial model in 2027.
Expansion into other regulated European markets is also on the table, as well as Latam and Canada.
The combined business has around 20 staff, with a hiring spree set to commence in 2026, with plans to double headcount.
The closer meshing of the Belgian and Dutch arms began around six months ago, with the new corporate entity going live today.
Speaking to EGR on the decision for the combination, Blanco said “Some shareholders of Hard Rock Casino NL are also shareholders of the Belgium operations.
“At the beginning, these operations were separate and there were not any touching points. It was decided it was time to put the teams together and they wanted me to lead this. I call it joint venture, because it is not really a merger.”
On his plans for the future under the SpinCore banner, he added: “The core here is that we are moving from a one brand-one market operation. We want to have a multi-brand approach.
“One step at the time, we are going to increase our structure and make sure that every market, every department, will have the right power and head count and skills and experience to drive their own KPIs.”
