Evolution CEO Martin Carlesund has said the company has cooperated with the Gambling Commission’s requirements ahead of the review decision of its licence in the market.
Last December, the regulator said it was reviewing the supplier’s licence after games were discovered to be available on the black market in the UK.
Evolution Malta Holdings Limited’s online casino supplier licence was granted by the Commission in October 2015.
Speaking on Evolution’s Q4 call in January, Carlesund said he thought the review was “going well”.
During the company Q3 call on Thursday (23 October), Carlesund did not provide any specific details but delivered a short update on the review process.
He said: “We have been very cooperative and also responsive to various requirements that the Gambling Commission has put on us.
“We still have to wait for the outcome but I truly believe that have the most sophisticated compliance framework among all providers targeting the UK.”
In his comments in the Q3 report, Carlesund stressed Evolution had “taken immediate actions to remedy the situation”, including ring-fencing measures, which have also been implemented across Europe.
The CEO admitted he didn’t have a timeline for when the supplier would be expecting a conclusion but estimated that a decision would be provided by the end of the year.
In its Q3 results, Evolution revealed European revenue fell from €194.9m in Q3 2024 to €182.2m – though it did grow quarter to quarter having stood at €180m in Q2.
Overall group revenue had fallen to €507.1m, a 2.4% decrease year-on-year.
