Game Lounge’s former head of Canada, Taylor Mason, has moved to evoke to become the operator’s country manager for Canada.
Mason spent six-and-a-half years at Game Lounge, where she began her career as a content writer. She was named head of Canada in February 2024.
Evoke is live in regulated Ontario via its VHL Ontario Limited licence. The firm runs 888sport, 888casino and 888poker in the multi-vertical market.
The operator, which also owns William Hill and Mr Green, was one of the first licensees to secure a permit ahead of Ontario’s launching its regulated market in April 2022.
Mason said in her LinkedIn post announcing the move: “After taking a few weeks to settle in, I’m very excited to announce I’ve joined evoke as the new country manager for Canada, Looking forward to 2026.”
Last week, evoke announced it would conduct a strategic review of its business which could result in a full group sale.
The operator has tapped Morgan Stanley and Rothschild for the process, which could also see specific business units and assets disposed of.
Many commentators in November speculated that the majority of UK operators would struggle as a result of the country’s remote gaming duty hike.
Evoke, with its international spread and extensive liabilities, is one of the largest of the UK-based companies seriously perceived to be seriously impacted by the recent budget.
William Hill announced last month that it would be exiting 13 international markets: nine in Africa, two in Asia and two in Latin America.
