Dreams begins construction of new US$21 million casino project

Chilean operator Dreams announced the start of construction of its new entertainment centre and casino in Talca, a project that involves an investment of US$21 million and aims to consolidate the Maule Region as an economic, cultural, and tourist development hub in the central-southern part of the country. The company estimates that the complex will open its doors in November 2026, once the construction and commissioning processes are completed.

As reported by Grupo Prensa Digital, the facility will be located on the grounds of the former International Fair of Talca, Fital, and will cover an area of 7,000 square meters. It will include a casino, a dining boulevard, shops, a museum, an amphitheatre, children’s play areas, and spaces for shows and conventions. The architectural proposal, designed by Juan Sabbagh, a National Architecture Award winner, emphasizes environmental sustainability criteria and wooden construction as an innovative hallmark.

The project will generate over 500 direct jobs during construction and, once operational, hundreds of permanent job positions. Additionally, it is expected to contribute around CLP 3.3 billion annually to the regional economy through taxes and its range of services.

In parallel, and as part of a collaboration agreement signed in January of this year with the Autonomous University of Chile and the Chilean Chamber of Construction, the company has opened spots for internships for higher education students and technical high school students from the region, aiming to engage young people in high-standard engineering and construction projects.

“We are taking a decisive step with the launch of this project, which not only seeks to transform an iconic space in Talca but also to create opportunities for local talent. Through this macro agreement with educational and trade institutions, we want students to be a part of the process and find in Dreams a platform for learning and career advancement,” Dreams stated.

According to Dreams the new complex “aims to become a modern, inclusive, and sustainable urban space, enhancing Talca’s position as a regional capital with first-class infrastructure and national projection.”

Dreams is a chain of hotels, casinos, and spas located in major cities in northern and southern Chile.
