DeepDive has unveiled its latest AI platform to support AML compliance teams within the gambling industry.

The company highlighted that the most common challenge faced by AML teams today is choosing between conducting a thorough investigation and take days, or fast-tracking due diligence and missing critical details.

DeepDive now offers a multi-language web search combined with quick global regulatory compliance data checks that significantly expands due diligence. This means that compliance teams can easily review public records, corporate filings, court documents, news archives, social media profiles, and international sanctions.

Each report provides detailed information on personal background, legal issues, financial integrity, and criminal activity for every subject analysed.

David Pope, COO at DeepDive, commented: “DeepDive addresses the pain points facing compliance teams such as time-intensive manual research, incomplete data, language barriers, false positives, and the challenge of processing vast amounts of information at scale.

“We’ve now completed a successful six-month beta with MLROs and outsourced EDD providers. DeepDive has helped them build deeper intelligence on high-risk customers from all over the world, in a fraction of the time.

“Not only are we uncovering intelligence that the manual EDD approach misses, but with the time saved, gaming operators can extend EDD across a wider set of customer transactions.”

AML remains one of the core priorities for the global gambling sector, with criminal syndicates lurking in the shadows to illicitly benefit from one of the most lucrative markets in the world.

Money laundering is spread across all continents – from Asia through Europe to the Americas. The most recent case in Europe saw Greek authorities uncover a potential money laundering ring with the involvement of high-ranking civil servants.

If proven to be true, the investigation would certainly raise more questions about the ability of Greece to protect the integrity of its gambling landscape.
