Online and lottery show good growth for Danske Spil
Danske Spil generated the highest profit in its history in 2025 with profits up to DKK 2,008m and a contribution to the distribution funds of DKK 1.8bn for the benefit of good causes. At the same time, Danske Spil has developed its business in a market characterised by both tougher and international competition as well as changed consumption habits.
In 2025, the Danske Spil Group achieved a profit after tax of DKK 2,008m, which is the highest in the company’s history. The total gross gaming revenue (BSI) amounted to DKK 5,158m, while the total social contribution reached DKK 3,148m. Of this, the contribution to the distribution funds amounted to DKK 1,787 million, which goes directly to thousands of purposes within sports, culture, associations and social initiatives throughout the country.
Chairman of the Board of Danske Spil, Lars Krarup, said: “For more than 75 years, Danske Spil has been established to be a joy and a benefit, and that is an obligation. Every year, we entertain 1.9m Danes in a safe environment, and when we succeed as a business, the profits benefit the community. In 2025, we will send DKK 1.8bn to the community through the distribution funds – money that makes a real difference to sports, culture and volunteering throughout the country. At Danske Spil, we have worked for a more responsible gambling market for many years, and therefore I am pleased that 2025 was the year when a broad political agreement on gambling was reached, which now raises the bar for responsibility for the industry.”
The lotteries were strong with the Danes, and the year peaked in December when a Dane won DKK 149 million in Eurojackpot. Danske Spil’s holiday products in particular had a good year. The Big Easter Lotto had a great debut, and The Big Christmas Lotto and Quick’s Christmas products achieved record turnover. Overall, sales of holiday products increased by 24 per cent. In 2025, Danske Spil also launched Klub Lotto – a new, free way to experience Lotto, which in just a few months has gathered over 100,000 Danes and shows how lotteries are continuously developed.
Danske Licens Spil and Oddset saw high levels of betting on everything from the national team and the Eurovision Song Contest to municipal elections and X Factor – while online casino had a good development. This happened in a market where competition was growing, and several multinational gaming companies were entering Denmark. At the same time, the unregulated market seems to have grown, just as competition and new consumer habits pushed the boundaries of what it takes to be relevant.

In 2025, Danske Spil continued to work purposefully to promote healthy gambling habits, including a special effort to take care of young adults under the age of 25, where the average gambling consumption on betting and online casino is down to less than DKK 130 per month. As part of a sustained and preventive effort, the proportion of players who give rise to the greatest concern has been further reduced in 2025.
In 2026, BSI in the Danske Spil Group is expected to be in the range of DKK 5,200-5,300m, and the profit after tax for the year is expected to be DKK 1,950-2,050m.
