Crypto.com is launching a new prediction market called OG, which will be offering tradable event contracts on sports, politics, finance, and cultural events.
OG is designed to combine consumer-app accessibility, engagement features of social media networks, and the strictness of institutional-grade platforms. The prediction market aims to be the first to deliver leveraged trading on event contracts and is waiting for certification from the CFTC.
The platform is planning to offer margin contracts with the help of Crypto.com’s CFTC-issued futures commission merchant and will allow users to connect with other traders to share opinions and track performance.
OG is headquartered in the U.S. and will initially focus on this market; however, the platform has plans for further international expansion.
With the launch of OG, Crypto.com also named Nick Lundgren as the CEO of the new prediction market. Lundgren is the chief legal officer of Crypto.com and previously led the company’s launch into the U.S. market for CFTC-regulated event contracts in 2024. He has supervised the expansion of the operator’s regulatory credentials, including the acquisition of CDNA in 2022.
Crypto.com shared that OG will be built on the company’s compliance framework, which is designed to protect consumers and give them tools to responsibly deal with risk and exposure.
