Coinbase has announced the launch of its prediction markets platform across 50 states via a partnership with Kalshi.
The crypto exchange’s prediction markets platform will allow customers to trade on event contracts across sports, politics, entertainment, and other markets.
A Coinbase statement read: “Out: Odds set by the house. In: Price set by the crowd. Now there’s a new way to trade your takes.
“Prediction markets are live in all 50 states on Coinbase. Trade any real-world outcomes across sports, politics, culture and more.”

Coinbase also posted a legal disclaimer stating: “Listed futures and swaps are offered by Coinbase Financial Markets (‘CFM’), a NFA member firm. Trading prediction contracts involve substantial risk and may result in the loss of your entire investment.
“Contracts pay out only if the specified event occurs. Trade only if you understand the product and believe it is appropriate for your financial situation and objectives.”
Coinbase laid the foundations for its prediction markets platform launch towards the end of 2025.
In December, the exchange partnered with Kalshi to power its prediction markets offering.
Later that month, Coinbase also acquired startup prediction markets platform The Clearing Company as part of its efforts to scale its trading efforts.
The transaction was scheduled to be finalised by the end of January, although the startup was not licensed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) when the deal was announced.
The Clearing Company is led by founder and former Kalshi and Polymarket head of growth Toni Gemayel, with ex-Polymarket head of engineering Liam Kovatch also joining the company last year.
Furthermore, Coinbase joined the likes of Kalshi, Robinhood, Crypto.com, and Underdog in forming the Coalition for Prediction Markets (CPM), a trade body designed to “promote fair, safe, and open access” to prediction markets.
