Casinò di Campione has signed a deal with Sisal and PokerStars to launch a dedicated poker room and host live poker events at its venue in Como, Italy, following a tender launched by Casinò di Campione last autumn.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sisal S.p.A. will leverage the experience and prestige of PokerStars, another brand of the Flutter Group, to set up a poker room that will always be active and the organization of live poker tournaments at the Casino.

The Casino di Campione, located in the beautiful province of Como on the shores of Lake Lugano, has always been synonymous with one of the most popular and favorite poker destinations in Europe.

PokerStars has been widely recognised for offering the best live poker events in the world for over 20 years, and last week celebrated 20 years of the European Poker Tour in Barcelona. PokerStars also operates state-of-the-art poker rooms around the world, including in the Hippodrome in London and Okada Manila in the Philippines.

The partnership will have an initial duration of four years, with the possibility of extension for a further three years. Further details on the opening times of the poker room and the first live tournament events will be communicated in the coming months.

Cedric Billot, Director of Live Event Operations at PokerStars, said: “We look forward to kicking off the partnership with Campione and offering the best poker experience to our passionate Italian audience. This is just the beginning of an important chapter for the PokerStars brand in Italy.”

Mario Venditti, Chairman of Casinò di Campione, added: “With the poker tournaments, Casinò di Campione starts again with the competitive events that qualify its offer, enlivening the calendar of one of Europe’s most important gaming houses.”
