Boomer’s opens its first three sportsbooks in Nevada

Nevada’s newest sportsbook has now opened its first three venues in quick succession with The Commercial Casino opening in Elko on Friday, followed by launches at Ellis Island and Casino Valle Verde in Henderson on August 4.

Former Mayor Oscar Goodman placed the first wager by betting on the Raiders to win the Super Bowl.

President & CEO Joe Asher said: “We cut the ribbon and opened the door to our new Elko sportsbook on Friday. A big thank you to Elko Mayor Reece Keener and State Assemblyman Bert Gurr for helping us cut the ribbon and to Assemblyman Gurr for making the first bet – $20 on the Yankees to cover the run line tonight. I’m so incredibly proud of our team for making this happen on the aggressive timeline I set. The Boomer’s team is a scrappy bunch – no job too big or too small. David Grolman put the last coat of paint on the place. I’m also grateful to so many folks at the Nevada Gaming Control Board for helping us through the myriad of regulatory matters that had to be satisfied in order to open.”

Boomer’s is the state’s only sportsbook that’s not owned by a casino operator, with the mantra ‘built by locals, driven by independence, and powered by a player-first mindset.’ It plans to open at 10 properties within a year.

“I think we’re going to surpass that goal,” Mr Asher added. “There’s a lot of interest from casinos looking to do something different. They haven’t had a lot of options when to comes to partnering with sportsbooks and clearly, there’s room in the market to offer people an alternative. The idea behind Boomer’s is that it’s going to be only a Nevada-focused race and sportsbook. We’re not going to do anything in any other state. It’s 100 per cent Nevada-focused.”

Unlike many operators tied to casino groups, Boomer’s is a true independent operator, answering only its customers. This independence allows Boomer’s to prioritize fair pricing, compelling offers, and a player-first mindset, values that resonate with every bettor.

Legendary bookmaker Nick Bogdanovich brings decades of experience and sharp insight to guide Boomer’s pricing and risk strategies. His leadership and deep understanding of the market ensure that Boomer’s delivers a top-tier experience grounded in integrity and expertise.

With a commitment to presence, Boomer’s will offer convenient brick-and-mortar locations across Nevada, ensuring that whether you’re in Las Vegas or Elko, bettors will always have a local, familiar place to bet with confidence.
