Boldt wins 20‑year licence for Hermitage, Tandil and Miramar casinos in Buenos Aires Province

Argentina’s Boldt S.A. has secured a long‑term concession to continue operating three key provincial casinos in the province of Buenos Aires, after the government completed a lengthy tender process covering slots, refurbishment and ancillary services.

The Instituto Provincial de Lotería y Casinos (IPLyC) has awarded Boldt the integral operation of the Casino Anexo III de Mar del Plata at the Hotel Hermitage, along with the casinos of Tandil and Miramar, for a period of 20 years with an option for a one‑year extension, taking the contracts to 2046.

The decision was formalised through Resolution 677/2026, which approved Public Tender No. 2/2025 for the supply and maintenance of slot machines, online monitoring systems, refurbishment works and related services in the three properties.

The tender, launched in 2025, attracted bids from Boldt and Casino de Victoria S.A. According to the pre‑award report previously released by the IPLyC, Boldt had already taken a clear lead with 79 points for its combined offer for Hermitage, Tandil and Miramar, compared to 43.5 points obtained by Casino de Victoria for the Hermitage casino.

Under the new contracts, Boldt will receive 58 per cent of the net win generated by slot machines at the Hermitage casino, 59 per cent at Tandil and 59.8 per cent at Miramar, mirroring the percentage‑of‑revenue model that has been used in earlier rounds of Buenos Aires casino tenders. The agreements also validate the company’s security plans for the three venues and leave detailed values for promotional services, comps and player‑club activities to be defined in the final operating contracts.

The award brings closure to a period of uncertainty in which Boldt had remained in place under successive short‑term extensions at Tandil, Miramar and the Hermitage annex, while the province prepared new tenders. Earlier this year, the IPLyC extended existing contracts for six casinos operated by Boldt until the end of 2026, or until new licences were resolved.

However, the process has not escaped political scrutiny. Lawmakers from the La Libertad Avanza bloc in the provincial legislature submitted a formal request for information on the 20‑year casino contracts, seeking details of the financial projections, evaluation criteria and oversight mechanisms applied to the 2025 tender. Despite the criticism, the latest resolution consolidates Boldt’s long‑standing role as the dominant private operator in the Buenos Aires provincial casino market.
