Blue One Casino will concentrate on the operation of table games
The casino based in the Jeju Sun Hotel on Jeju Island in South Korea has reopened under the brand Blue One Casino.
Its parent company KH Group, who bought the property earlier this month from Bloomberry for an initial US$4.6m, held a launch ceremony on March 16. Blue One Casino will concentrate on the operation of table games. A further $2.2m is due to be paid in February next year.
“As tourism spending patterns shift from shopping-led travel toward experience- and entertainment-oriented visits, the property aims to promote a stay-oriented tourism model by encouraging foreign visitors to stay longer and increase per-capita spending,” KH Group said.
“During the acquisition process, we succeeded in taking over as many existing employees as possible and successfully completed internal organizational stabilization by improving the compensation system. We have finished preparations to execute medium- to long-term growth strategies on a stable operating foundation.”
It added: “Participation in this casino operating corporation is not a simple external expansion but the securing of a structural growth base that combines beauty and leisure. We will make every effort to solidify our status as the major shareholder through efficient fund execution and a debt-to-equity swap, and to enhance shareholder value by maximizing the synergy of our ongoing brand rebranding and new businesses.”
