FanDuel has confirmed there have been staff redundancies at BeyondPlay a little over a year after acquiring the jackpot and multiplayer gaming supplier.

EGR understands that more than 10 employees have been affected by the decision, with staff informed of the news last week.

FanDuel completed its acquisition of BeyondPlay in June 2024, absorbing the startup into its igaming division.

The transaction, which was revealed in February 2024 by EGR, also saw BeyondPlay founder Karolina Pelc named as vice-president of BeyondPlay at FanDuel.

FanDuel assumed control of both BeyondPlay’s jackpot management system and social casino product.

In April 2025, FanDuel announced the roll out of FanDuel Casino Jackpots, the in-house progressive jackpot system powered by BeyondPlay.

The operator said the tool had been set live in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

A FanDuel spokesperson told EGR: “Following the successful acquisition of BeyondPlay, we introduced Site Wide Jackpots, an industry-leading proposition that has already delivered over a quarter of a million jackpot wins to our customers.

“As we continue to build on this momentum, some roles have been impacted as we implement a new team structure designed to better support the next phase of growth for our offering.”

As per Flutter’s 10-Q report for Q2 2025, the BeyondPlay-powered feature has played a role in the increase of igaming revenue derived from FanDuel.

The report states: “Revenue for the three months ended 30 June 2025 increased by 42% driven by an increase in [average monthly players] of 32% period over period to 0.9 million for the three months ended 30 June 2025 compared to 0.7 million for the three months ended 30 June 2024 and an increase in player frequency driven by the launch of site-wide jackpots and the roll out of new titles to the platform.”

Pelc confirmed she departed the operator earlier this month. Posting on LinkedIn at the time, she wrote: “Leaving something you built from scratch is never easy – but it’s the right time. And I leave filled with nothing but gratitude, pride and excitement for what’s next.

“To my team: You were, and still are, the beating heart of this journey. You turned vision into product, chaos into momentum and uncertainty into magic.”
