Betting Hero has announced the appointment of Scott Miller to the company’s executive leadership team.

Miller joins the affiliate from Better Collective, where he most recently served as chief operating officer for North America between May 2023 and May 2025.

Before stepping up to the role, he worked as senior vice-president of commercial for the US between July 2022 and July 2023.

Miller also spent five years at The Action Network between October 2017 and July 2022, prior to the media company’s $240m acquisition by Better Collective in 2021.

There, he held several roles including executive editor (February 2019 to June 2020), director of product (February and July 2021) and vice-president of product and operations (July 2021 to July 2022).

Prior to that, Miller spent six years working for ESPN in different capacities, the last of which being as senior editor for ESPN.com between July and October 2017.

In August 2024, Betting Hero founders Jai Maw and Jeremy Jakary completed a $37.5m management buyout of the company from FansUnite Entertainment.

The purchase was facilitated by the pair’s Hero Group venture, in addition to strategic partners GeoComply.

Betting Hero placed 20th in EGR’s Power Affiliate rankings for 2025, while Better Collective claimed top spot.

Taking to LinkedIn about his new role, Miller wrote: “This is a profitable business, and a growing one. It partners with the biggest brands in gaming, across retail and digital, providing an unparalleled scale of customer acquisition, retention and research.

“It does hard things really, really well. And it’s only getting started, as it enters a new era after Jai and Jeremy bought the business back with strategic support and investment from GeoComply.

“I’m driven by the climb that lies ahead. I’m energised by the team I’ll be working alongside. I’m motivated by the thought of helping build a great and lasting company that sits at the centre of the betting ecosystem and solves real problems for operators, customers and everything in between.”

Last month, Better Collective underwent a company restructure that saw group COO Christian Kirk Rasmussen move up to the role of co-CEO alongside existing chief Jesper Søgaard.

The move formed part of the affiliate’s shift away from a geography-based model and towards an emphasis on the three key verticals of publishing, paid media and esports.
