Better Collective’s vice-president (VP) of global sports media Federico Grinberg has announced his departure from the company.

Grinberg had held the VP role with the affiliate for five months, first assuming the position in May 2025.

Prior to that, he co-founded football media platform Futbol Sites, which was taken over by Better Collective when it acquired Playmaker Capital in February 2024.

After serving as managing director at Futbol Sites from February 2009 to April 2014, Grinberg moved to the role of CEO from May 2014 to May 2025.

Playmaker Capital acquired Futbol Sites in April 2021 in a $35m deal. Grinberg was retained and joined the Playmaker Capital senior leadership team following the transaction’s completion.

In turn, he served as executive VP at Playmaker Capital between April 2021 and February 2024.

Writing on LinkedIn, Grinberg said: “Today I want to share that I’m closing my chapter at Better Collective and Futbol Sites. Twenty-six years ago, when Nahuel [Pan, Futbol Sites co-founder] and I met and dreamed of a web project, we never imagined it would grow into what Futbol Sites became. It was a long, challenging and emotional journey.

“To the advertisers who believed in us early, to the partners and vendors who supported our growth and to the partners who joined through acquisitions, thank you.

“Most of all, to the hundreds of employees who worked with passion, loyalty and commitment, many of whom became lifelong friends: you made this a family, and that’s why Futbol Sites was a success.

“Thanks as well to Playmaker Capital for a unique experience, and thanks to Better Collective for the warmth and respect I received. Now it’s time to pause, recharge and focus on new goals and ideas. The best is yet to come.”

Grinberg’s departure marks the latest exit at Better Collective.

Earlier this month, the affiliate’s VP of product and strategy, Brandon Cohen, stepped down from his role after seven years.

Ben Maggin, CEO of Better Collective subsidiary Yardbarker, also left his position at the start of September.

In July, Better Collective North America CEO Marc Pedersen vacated his role after 18 years with the company.
