Betsson launches Italy campaign featuring football legends

Betsson has unveiled its latest campaign in Italy including a trio of retired Italian football legends to boost the visibility of its infotainment platform Betsson.sport.

The TV and digital spot, titled ‘Museo della Passione’, features ambassador Francesco Totti, World Cup and Ballon d’Or winners Fabio Cannavaro and Roberto Baggio.

The 30-second advert takes place in rooms filled with trophies and Betsson.sport memorabilia from different sports, highlighting the “different sporting disciplines represented within the Betsson Sport Club ecosystem”.

Filmed from the point of view of the customer, it begins with the viewer handing an entry ticket to Totti and him exploring what is on display.

The customer is then presented with a rugby ball from Baggio, as they prepare to take on a wheelchair rugby player.

Following that, the customer opens a pair of curtains to see Cannavaro place a Ballon d’Or trophy in a cabinet.

The spot ends with the three former Italian players in orange Betsson.sport football shirts.

Announcing the campaign, Betsson said it “underlines the platform’s objective of promoting inclusion, fair play and passion in sport”. 

Alongside the advert, users of the Betsson.sport platform will gain access exclusive content, interviews and digital activations.

Stefano Tino, Betsson Group managing director for Southern Europe, said: “With this campaign, we continue to strengthen Betsson.sport as a platform that promotes the values of sport, including fair play, inclusion and passion.

“The involvement of Francesco Totti, Roberto Baggio and Fabio Cannavaro supports our ambition to further grow the Betsson Sport Club and increase visibility for a broad range of sporting disciplines.”

Betsson is the current front-of-shirt sponsor of Inter Milan, with its infotainment platform strewn onto the shirt due to Italy’s advertising laws preventing pure gambling sponsorships.

Last November, the operator also secured a licence in Italy’s revamped online gambling market, where it already has its existing StarCasinò brand.
