Betsson AB has reported record revenue in Q2 2026 of €310.2m (£264m) with the Stockholm-listed operator enjoying a bump from the World Cup.

Revenue increased 2% year on year (YoY) from €303.7m in Q2 2025 as the quadrennial tournament kicked off in North America on 11 June.

However, EBITDA slipped 31% to €58.5m and EBIT was down 39% to €42.2m as the business’ profitability was hampered by a decline in its B2B arm.

Betsson had flagged a slip in Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, with B2B revenue in Q2 falling from €75.6m in 2025 to €49.1m in this year’s quarter. Betsson said the decline was due to one B2B customer.

Sports betting revenue was up 1.4% YoY to €91.3m, although total stakes declined 12%.

In online casino, which accounted for 70% of group revenue, stakes also slipped 8.7%, although revenue jumped 2.5% to €217.6m.

Geographically, Latam is now the Rizk parent company’s largest market, with revenue up 32.4% to €112.1m.

The quarter marked an all-time high for the region. Likewise, Argentina, Peru and Colombia all reported record performances.

Latam represented 36% of total group revenue, followed by Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA) at 32%.

CEECA revenue fell 14.9%, predominantly driven by the B2B softness, to €100.6m.

Western Europe revenue was up 8.3% to €64.2m, driven by record performance in Italy and improvements in casino.

The Nordics continued to show softness as revenue slipped 17.1% YoY to just €28.1m.

Revenue from locally licensed jurisdictions was up 17% to €234.2m, corresponding to 75.5% of total group revenue.

Management said that due to the increase in locally regulated revenue, Betsson was more exposed to higher taxes, with cost of services up from €109.8m to €132.7m.

Actives, bumped up by the World Cup, jumped to 1.8 million.

Betsson’s shares are up 2.4% at the time of writing to SEK93 (£7.16).

Pontus Lindwall, Betsson AB CEO, said: “The second quarter was characterised by continued healthy growth in our B2C business, positively impacted by the FIFA World Cup that kicked off in June.

“At the same time, B2B revenue remained at a lower level than the previous year, which weighed on the quarter’s profitability, although the operating margin improved compared with the previous quarter.

“With a competitive product offering and strong market positions, we are well placed to continue creating long-term value for our shareholders.”
