BetHog has raised $10m (£7.4m) in Series A funding and launched Sentient Studios as the crypto casino expands into the B2B vertical.

The operator has now raised $16m in total, with the latest funding round co-led by VC firm Will Ventures and digital asset investment company RockawayX.

Other participants included PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital and Advancit Capita.

BetHog will use the capital to expand its own AI-dealer technology and bring Sentient Studios to operators on a global scale.

Sentient Studios will expand BetHog’s existing AI dealer product, which it unveiled last year.

In October, BetHog launched the “world’s first” AI-powered dealer, Sunny, which is now available in 12 languages.

The crypto casino operator added it plans to expand the AI-croupier’s capabilities into baccarat and roulette.

The studio noted that the use of AI dealers would allow operators greater flexibility around live casino products, including supporting multiple languages and adapting games in real time.

Operating on a revenue-share model, the studio has no setup fees, monthly minimums or fixed-term contracts, BetHog said.

It will also allow operators to create their own dealer personas, branded environments and experiences owned within their product.

Commenting on the studio launch and funding round, Nigel Eccles, BetHog CEO and co-founder, said: “We’ve tested our basic AI dealer over the past six months and have discovered it is 10 times more popular than its live dealer equivalent. In addition, we’ve seen better retention and player satisfaction.

“With Sentient Labs, we’re excited to bring this product to other online casinos where operators can launch and scale their own dealer experiences instantly, operate continuously and create more personalised interactions for players.”

In December, SkillOnNet rolled out an AI-powered dealer on its PlayUZU brand in Mexico.
