Banijay Group hailed “strong momentum” in its gaming and betting division after it reported revenue of €1.6bn (£1.4bn) for full-year 2025, with double-digit growth in three of its four business segments.

Sportsbook revenue for Banijay Gaming for the year amounted to €1.2bn, marking a 6.1% increase year on year (YoY) and making up most of the total figure.

The group noted the figure increased despite a lack of major international tournament during the year and compared to a “record 2024 comparative base”.

Online casino revenue for the year rose 16.9% YoY to €249.3m, aided by “strong momentum in Portugal and in Côte d’Ivoire following the launch of the activity in early 2025”.

The poker segment saw the biggest revenue increase of all the verticals, with the figure rising 36.5% to €105.8m.

Revenue from the horseracing brand Turf also increased compared to 2024, rising 17.7% YoY to €24.3m.

The number of unique active players across Banijay Gaming platforms increased 23%, driven by “strong player engagement and continued enhancements of user experience across products”.

Adjusted EBITDA for the year amounted to €425.2m, up 12% YoY, leaving an adjusted EBITDA margin of 26.7%.

This was in spite of tax rises in the French market, where online betting tax climbed from 54.9% to 59.3% of GGR, with lottery and igaming also subject to increases.

During the year, Banijay Gaming acquired a majority stake in Germany-and Austria-facing operator Tipico in a deal worth €3bn.

The move saw the company divest its 53.9% stake in Germany-facing firm Bet-at-Home.

François Riahi, CEO of Banijay Group, said: “Banijay Group delivered a strong performance in 2025. In a year marked by a challenging production backdrop and a softer sports calendar, our diversified model once again demonstrated its growth potential.

“Online sports betting and gaming sustained strong momentum, with revenue up 10% despite a record year in 2024, and a further 23% increase in unique active players. Adjusted EBITDA for this business once again recorded double-digit growth despite the absence of major sports competition and the increase in taxes in France in July 2025.

“The acquisition of Tipico in 2025 represented a transformative milestone for the group. It broadens our geographical diversity and positions Banijay Group as a leader in the sector.

“With improved profitability, disciplined deleveraging and a strengthened industrial capabilities across all our businesses, we are entering 2026 with confidence.”

Speaking on the analyst call following the results announcement, Riahi explained the company’s decision to delay the Tipico integration until after the summer’s World Cup.

He said: “Every two years you have a big event, and the World Cup is even bigger than the Euros. People are getting more interested in watching the games, in betting, and it becomes the actuality of everyone to speak about the World Cup. That’s a very strong moment for engagement and increasing the revenues. There’s no reason why 2026 should be any different.

“We announced we were not going to start the integration of Betclic and Tipico before the World Cup. Our teams in Betclic, and I’m sure it’s the same at Tipico, are completely focused on preparing for this event because it means preparing new features in the app so they can have everything ready to make the most of this event.”

At the time of writing, parent company Banijay Group’s share price sits at €8.40, up 1.8% from market open.
