Aristocrat Interactive has confirmed it will exit the UK market and stop offering white-label services.
A company spokesperson confirmed the decision to EGR, with several brands linked to the company’s AG Communications licence either having closed or are due to be shuttered.
AG Communications, which is the Gambling Commission licence holder for Aristocrat Interactive-owned Aspire Global, had run a long list of more than 80 sites in the UK.
However, several of those have been shut down; some closed in December and January.
For example, a notice on the AtlanticSpins site states that the platform is no longer operational and directs users to an Aristocrat customer support email address.
Others, such as 24Spin and CasinoLuck, have notices on their respective homepages informing customers that they will soon be ceasing operations.
The statement reads: “As of 26 February, we will be switching to a new licence and platform service provider. As a result this website will be temporarily closing.
“As of 26 January we will no longer be accepting registrations or deposits, and we will continue to accept bets until 12 February 2026.”
In other cases, some brands have already pivoted to become affiliate websites, including LuckLand and GreenPlay.
AG Communications holds a sports betting, online casino and bingo licence from the Gambling Commission.
As per the regulator’s business register, the licensee manages 82 domain names, although that figure includes the already closed and to be shut down sites.
The vast majority of AG Communications’ portfolio are casino-first sites, making up a portion of the significant longtail of brands currently live in the UK.
Aristocrat, the ASX-listed supplier giant, came to own Aspire after it snapped up NeoGames in 2024 in a $1.8bn deal.
NeoGames had previously acquired Aspire in 2022 in a transaction worth around €400m.
An Aristocrat Interactive spokesperson said: “Aristocrat Interactive confirms it is planning to cease offering white-label igaming services to customers.
“This change is expected to be effective 30 June 2026, subject to appropriate customer consultation and any regulatory requirements.
“As we are planning to exit the market, we will work with partners to address any remaining contracted arrangements and support a smooth process for our partners and players.
“This follows a review of Aristocrat Interactive’s white-label operations, which determined that these are not core to its growth strategy.
“This change will help ensure that the business is fully focused on its highest growth priorities.”
Aristocrat’s exit from the UK comes against the backdrop of significant gambling tax hikes in the pipeline, as laid out in the Autumn Budget in November.
Remote gaming duty will soar from 21% to 40% from April, while remote general betting duty will jump from 15% to 25% from April 2027.
The tax changes are expected to result in exits and market consolidation, with the likes of SkillOnNet, the operator of PlayOJO and other gaming brands, already telling EGR it is exploring M&A deals to shore up its position.
Major operators, including Entain, Flutter, evoke and Rank Group have all laid out mitigation plans, including cutting marketing and renewing supplier deals, to soften the impact from the tax hikes.
On Wednesday, Entain announced Coral would be ending its long-running sponsorship of the Coral Cup at Cheltenham.
