Oddschecker has reported that motorsports recorded a 70% year-on-year (YoY) increase on betslip clicks at the affiliate during 2025.
Laying out its yearly movers and shakers, the brand said a competitive Formula 1 season and continued interest in the Netflix documentary (Formula 1: Drive to Survive) on the sport had driven interest.
The FairPlay Sports Media-owned affiliate noted that US sports continued to receive interest from UK punters, with basketball (+35%) and the NFL (+13%) reporting betslip click jumps.
Other big increases were for rugby union (+29%) and cricket (+24%), the latter of which was driven by the Ashes in December.
Darts, powered by the ‘Luke Littler effect’, reported a 7% uptick, just missing out on the top five.
In terms of downturns, international football (-78%) suffered after a summer without a major men’s tournament.

In 2024, the Euros and Copa América both took place across June and July, which drove interest.
Similarly, athletics betslip clicks were down by 74% in 2025 against the previous year’s 2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris.
Oddschecker added: “Not all categories performed as strongly. Athletics saw a sharp 74% drop in activity compared with 2024, a year which saw the Paris Olympics.
“Entertainment markets, including TV specials and politics, also declined in a year without major UK or US elections.
“Horseracing continued its longer-term downward trend, recording another YoY decrease in line with broader market dynamics and changing operator priorities to higher margined products.”
A barmy bout
The Anthony Joshua versus Jake Paul fight in December drew a significant number of eyeballs and huge interest, including on the betting front.
Oddschecker said the bout was “one of the most anticipated fights on oddschecker in recent years”, with operators reporting their best converting grid day of the year.
In terms of clickshare battle, bet365 came out on top for the event, taking 20.9% of all betslip activity.

William Hill was close in second place with 19.2%, while Unibet was a distant third with 6.9%. Betfair (5.6%) and Ladbrokes (5.3%) closed out the top five.
Oddschecker added that despite being a 1/10 favourite, Joshua took just 47% of total fight clicks in December versus Paul at 45% going off at 6/1.
Moving into 2026, oddschecker said it was planning to improve its bet builder offering, while its Endorsed service will resume in the coming weeks.
