Moon Intelligence has launched a venture capital division in a bid to help industry entrepreneurs and startups.
The London-based consultancy will provide funding and mentor gambling startups as they attempt to scale.
Help will also be provided in the form of access to Moon Intelligence’s data and network of partners.
The creation of Moon Intelligence’s venture capital arm will also support the firm’s expansion strategy into the US, as well as bolster its current product offering.
Moon Intelligence has recently invested in football data firm StatsBomb, as well as mobile game company Voodoo and advanced odds monitoring and analysis platform Betunfair.
The company has also ploughed capital into Project Football, which allowed Moon Intelligence to gain access to a football quant who had developed a proprietary predictive model.
The firm said these types of investments would allow it to build on its product suite and help ramp up its expansion into the US.
Moon Intelligence is also positioning itself as a partner to prediction markets by offering “deeper liquidity” via its “proprietary market making trading model and team of 50 analysts”.
It said the new venture capital division will focus on “innovative companies developing novel products that align with our strategic vision”.
Alexandre Luneau, Moon Intelligence CEO and co-founder, said: “We are open to working with various types of projects. If you’re a pro bettor struggling to scale, then talk to us.
“Are you building the next big product in the industry but need some support? Reach out.
“We hope that by launching an official venture capital arm for the company, we can grab more attention from entrepreneurs who need an experienced partner.”
Sebastien Sabic, Moon Intelligence co-founder and chief strategy officer, added: “The initial wave of investments we made in startups and entrepreneurs proved highly beneficial for the company, and showcases our flexibility in how we can develop concepts to new heights.
“Our unconventional yet highly successful partnership with Project Football saw us invest in a sole trader who had the edge in certain football leagues.
“By helping the trader grow his coverage with access to more data, it enhanced both his personal trading and Moon Intelligence’s wider offering.
“We’re always on the lookout for these smaller but sharp-type professional punters to help them grow and find mutually beneficial deals.”
