FlashScore has acquired football-only live scores app BeSoccer in an undisclosed deal to significantly expand the firm’s global reach.
Málaga-based BeSoccer boasts around 25 million monthly visitors and has hit more than 100 million app downloads since launching in 2006.
Initially a web-only portal, the company debuted its iOS and Android apps in 2013.
The company’s website, Resultados de Fútbol, continues to operate and hosts partnerships with the likes of bet365 and Winamax.
The company claims to have the “largest football database in the world”, with its live scores product tracking games from more than 200 countries.
The site also hosts a news portal in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and Italian, with more than 250,000 articles published each year.
BeSoccer also holds a media partnership with Spanish sports daily newspaper AS and Caracol Radio, while also partnering with the Royal Spanish Football Federation and a host of clubs, including Real Madrid.
Founded by Manuel Heredia, who remains as CEO, BeSoccer previously operated a free-to-play games site, Popuz.
FlashScore is the premier brand for parent company Livesport, which provides live scores for more than 35 sports across the world.
A FlashScore statement read: “We’re thrilled to announce that BeSoccer, the world’s most popular football-only live score app, is now part of our family.
“With over 25 million monthly visitors and 100+ million downloads, BeSoccer has become a global go-to for football live scores, news and in-depth stats, with a particularly strong presence in Spanish and French-speaking markets.
“This addition expands our mission to spread all of the important sports information as it happens to fans worldwide.
“By joining forces, BeSoccer will benefit from our shared vision, innovation and dedication to bringing fans closer to the action.”
