Sportradar has championed the arrival of former Playtech exec Edo Haitin as executive vice-president of igaming as a “new chapter” for the business.
Haitin, who has been working with the New York-listed giant since Q4, moved to the business after a lengthy spell with Playtech.
Haitin first joined Playtech back in 2016, before becoming managing director of live casino in April 2019.
He was named Playtech Live CEO in August 2022 and was replaced by Marat Koss upon his departure.
Sportradar, which has built up its stance in the industry as a leading data provider and sports betting solutions supplier, is planning to ramp up its igaming efforts.
The supplier is offering a full online casino platform, as well as slots, bingo, lottery and crash games.
CRM, retention, VIP schemes, gamification and personalisation tools are also being offered by the business.
Speaking on the firm’s Q3 earnings call in November, CEO Carsten Koerl said igaming was a “natural element” for the company.
He added: “Our clients usually have licences [for] igaming and sports betting. We have the connection. We have the technology, the platform and the approach.
“We feel very strongly about igaming to integrate it into our portfolio”.
During the call, Koerl said Brazil had been a test market for the firm’s igaming push, with plans to expand elsewhere.
He continued: “There is a clear focus that once we are feeling strong enough with this product, we are looking [at] very scalable markets. The US is such an example.
“It’s a very scalable market, where we believe we have to work on the portfolio [to be] competitive, and we are doing this.”
A Sportradar statement read: “We’re delighted to introduce Edo Haitin as our executive vice-president of igaming.
“Edo brings over two decades of dedicated igaming experience to Sportradar and his arrival signals a new chapter in our igaming evolution, client offering and company growth.
“In his role, Edo will oversee the expansion of Sportradar’s igaming strategy as we continue to leverage our unique position in the industry, including our proprietary technology, data and global distribution network, to deliver innovative experiences for online casino players.”
