Easygo chief technology officer (CTO) David Lemphers has departed the Stake and Kick parent company after just over a year.
The exec, who originally joined the business in August 2023, confirmed he was stepping away from his role, effective immediately.
The former Microsoft and Amazon Web Services head played a key role in the crypto-centric casino’s growth, along with its sister streaming site Kick’s rapid rise.
Stake is one of the largest operators in the world based on revenue and has ramped up its push into regulated markets over the past 18 months.
The business acquired Betfair’s local Colombian business to launch in the Latam nation, while it also secured a Peruvian licence and is on the approved operator list in Brazil.
Stake also acquired Idealbet in Italy to strengthen its hand in the regulated European space.
Kick has also exploded in growth to become the key challenger to Twitch in the streaming sector.
In fact, 21 October marked a record for the platform in which it had an all-time peak viewership of 1,753,766 concurrent viewers.
Based in Easygo’s native Australia, Lemphers helped build out the company’s Melbourne tech hub as he set about his aim of making Easygo the “best engineering organisation in the world”.
Taking to LinkedIn, Lemphers described his time with the company as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience”.
He said: “After an incredible journey, I’m stepping away as CTO of Easygo.
“Working closely with Ed [Craven, Easygo co-founder], a great leader and entrepreneur, I had the privilege of leading an exceptional engineering team and collaborating with a world-class group of designers, product managers, marketing experts and customer operations.
“Building products at the scale of Kick and Stake has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience, packed with invaluable lessons and growth for both myself and the team.
“Seeing us evolve into one of the best in the industry has been truly inspiring, and I couldn’t be prouder of everything we’ve accomplished together.”
Lemphers did not disclose what next steps he would take in his career, but he did note he expects the Easygo team to continue to flourish.
He added: “I can’t wait to see where my journey takes me next, but I know Kick and Stake are going to be hard acts to follow.
“And to my crew, while I won’t be at the helm, I expect you to keep the sails full, the spirit fierce, and never give up on treasure and glory.”
