EstrelaBet chief marketing officer (CMO) Renan Cavalcanti has announced he is leaving the Brazilian operator after three years.

Cavalcanti arrived from NewC Sport, a Danish-based firm that customises digital ticketing for clubs, where he spent nine months as a business management consultant.

Prior to that, he had a short 10-month stint with Nubank as its senior brand manager after 11 months at Brazilian football club Atlético Mineiro as their head of marketing.

From February 2019 until March 2021, he was head of marketing and ecommerce and then head of product, marketing and ecommerce at Brazilian education firm Cogna Educação.

While with EstrelaBet, the former CMO was a part of the team that secured the Brazilian sponsorship of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The operator also previously sponsored Internacional and esports side Vivo Keyd Stars.

Announcing his departure on LinkedIn, he said :“New Year always carries this symbology of closing cycles and opening new paths. And that’s exactly how I start this text.

“I end my three-year cycle as CMO of EstrelaBet with the greatest possible pride. They were intense, challenging and extremely happy years.

“I had the privilege of leading and learning every day from my amazing branding, growth, affiliation, CRM and VIP players, sportsbook, casino and CX teams. Extremely talented, committed people who trusted me throughout this journey.

“Together, we helped build EstrelaBet as one of the leading [operators] in Brazil.”

Cavalcanti’s exit came weeks after the operator promoted Lorena Lima to the role of director of customer experience and expansion.
