Rank Group has announced its Spain-facing business, Enracha and Yo, has been the victim of payment fraud totalling around €7.1m (£6.2m).
The London-listed business did not provide specific details about the incident as part of its public announcement this morning, 22 December.
Rank did state it has reported the issue to the “relevant law enforcement agencies and is supporting their investigations”.
The omnichannel firm is also carrying out its own internal investigation with the support of an external law firm.
A Rank statement read: “Given the exceptional nature of this incident, Rank Group expects to treat the financial impact as a separately disclosed item in relation to its 2025-26 performance.”
The company’s shares have slid on the news, down 8% to 96.7p in early trading.
The operator has seen its stock rise almost 145 over the past 12 months.
Rank Group runs nine Enracha venues across Spain, which combine bingo, sports betting and gaming machines.
In the Maidenhead-based operator’s full-year report for the 12 months ending 30 June 2025, the venues reported net gaming revenue of £40.9m.
This represented a 9% year-on-year (YoY) jump from £37.6m. Total operating profit for the division rose 5% to £13.8m.
During the reporting period, Rank also noted a 3% increase in visitor numbers and a 6% rise in spend per visit.
On the digital front, performance was flat YoY. Management said they had expected the division to return to growth in H1 2025-26.
As per the Q1 2025-26 trading update, this was shifted to a return to growth projection in Q2.
Separately disclosed items for Rank Group in 2024-25 totalled £2.5m in credit due to the sale of the “sale of the UK digital non-proprietary business in H1 and credits associated with the historic closure of venues”.
