Welcome to the Weekend Report, where iGB looks at the news you may have missed across the last few days. This week, the Dutch Lottery welcomes new chair, PointsBet switches FY dates and Bragg pens an extension with 711 Group.

Dutch Lottery confirms new chairman

The Dutch Lottery has announced the appointment of Raymond Knops as its new chairman with effect from 1 January.

Knops, who will succeed Alexander Pechtold, has extensive political experience. He spent 18 years as a member of Dutch Parliament and was a government minister and state secretary.

More recently, he has been a partner at European consultancy firm Valcon. He also chairs the Netherlands Industry for Defence and Security Foundation.

“I look forward to getting to know this wonderful and socially responsible company better in the new year and all the employees who work daily to provide attractive, safe and responsible games of chance for the entire Netherlands,” Knops said.

PointsBet switches financial year dates

PointsBet has reported it is to change its financial year end from 30 June to 31 March.

PointsBet will have a nine-month transitional financial year, from 1 June 2025 to 31 March 2026. From then, it will switch to the new 12-month date range.

The change will place PointsBet in line with the financial year of MIXI, its controlling entity. MIXI completed its takeover offer for PointsBet in September.

MIXI had faced competition from Betr Entertainment but eventually secured 66.43% of the overall voting power in the operator.

Olybet rapped over Lithuanian ad breach

The Lithuania Gaming Control Authority has issued a warning to Olympic Casino Group Baltija for breaching rules on gambling advertisements.

The logo for its Olybet brand was featured inside a fan zone during the European Basketball Championship, which took place in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius.

This, the regulator said, violated gambling advertising rules in the country. As of 1 July this year, the name or trademark of a gambling brand can only be displayed on the premises of an operator or the building where gambling is taking place.

“The purpose of these amendments is to reduce the accessibility, attractiveness and harm caused by gambling to the public,” the regulator said. “This is a transitional period before the full ban on gambling advertising comes into force.”

Flutter welcomes new non-executive director

Flutter Entertainment has appointed Sally Susman as a non-executive director with effect from 29 May 2026.

Susman has held senior executive positions across a number of industries. She most recently served as executive vice president and chief corporate affairs officer for Pfizer.

Prior to this, she held senior corporate affairs positions at The Estee Lauder Companies and American Express Company.

“Sally’s appointment is in line with our board renewal programme having regard to the scale, geographic breadth and growth of the business,” Flutter Chair John Bryant said. “We look forward to Sally joining the Flutter board and contributing to the company’s future.”

Bragg pens extension with 711 group

Bragg Gaming Group has agreed to extend its partnership with Dutch- and Belgian-facing 711 group.

Under the deal, Bragg will provide a player account management platform, online casino content, and player engagement and gamification support.

Bragg’s technology and content suite was originally implemented for the launch of the 711.nl online casino and sportsbook in the Netherlands. It will now be used to power the operator’s launch in Belgium under 711.be.

The three-year deal also covers potential launches in newly regulated markets in future.

The Dutch Lottery, PointsBet and Flutter all feature in this edition of the Weekend Report.
