IGT has officially appointed former Aristocrat Gaming CEO Hector Fernandez as its new CEO.
Fernandez was named as the business’ new boss in December 2024. He was required to complete a non-compete period before joining the supplier.
Fernandez most recently served as CEO of Aristocrat Gaming, having previously been CEO of Americas and president of the Americas and EMEA.
His arrival comes after IGT and Everi combined and was bought by Apollo Capitial Management.
The combined entity includes IGT’s gaming and digital business and the whole of Everi.
The former lottery arm of IGT is now a separate company known as Brightstar Lottery.
Sitting underneath Fernandez will be IGT Digital CEO Gil Rotem and IGT FinTech CEO Darren Simmons.
The new CEO’s arrival will also see former interim boss Nick Khin transition to a strategic adviser role within the company.
Khin had been serving as interim CEO and head of the gaming business unit.
Fernandez will be based out of Las Vegas.
Fernandez said: “This is a company with strong talent, deep industry relationships and significant potential.
“As we bring together the legacy IGT and Everi teams, in partnership with Apollo, we have an opportunity to evolve how we operate, innovate and deliver for our customers.
“I’m looking forward to working with our teams around the world to define what’s next for IGT.
“Nick has contributed greatly to IGT’s progress over the past 12 years. His leadership through this transition period has been invaluable to the organisation, and I want to thank him for his dedication and impact.”
Daniel Cohen, IGT chair, added: “Led by Hector and a talented team of leaders from across the legacy IGT Gaming and Digital and Everi businesses, as well as key new hires from inside and outside the industry, we believe the combined enterprise will accelerate growth, enhance product and content innovation and become an even stronger partner to its customers.”
