How NuxGame strengthens operator success in a tougher US sweepstakes market

EGR: The US sweepstakes space recently saw major content suppliers like Evolution and Pragmatic Play pull out. What’s your take on these high-profile exits?

Denis Kosinsky (DK): It’s certainly a wake-up call. When industry heavyweights like Evolution and Pragmatic Play withdraw their games from sweepstakes platforms, it underscores how much the regulatory heat has been turned up. Frankly, I don’t blame them – no one wants to land on the wrong side of a state attorney general. One gaming lawyer noted that content suppliers have become the “weak links” or choke points for regulators, meaning if authorities can’t catch every operator, they’ll lean on big studios that have reputations to protect. From NuxGame’s perspective, it’s a humble reminder compliance is king. We’ve built our platform to be agile with content, so if a top-tier supplier exits a market, we can swiftly offer alternative game content that’s fully compliant.

EGR: Regulators across states including California, New York and New Jersey have either banned or are pushing to ban sweepstakes casinos outright. Is the tide really turning against sweepstakes gaming?

DK: The regulatory winds are indeed blowing strongly. We’ve gone from a few cease-and-desist letters to full-blown bills banning the model in major markets – California, New York, New Jersey, you name it. Those three states alone are ~20% of the US population, so when they move to shut something down, it’s a big deal. I tend to agree there’s more scrutiny than ever. But does that mean sweepstakes are dead in the water? I don’t think so – not if the industry adapts. What we’re seeing is a call for clarity. Trade groups of sweepstakes operators have formed, basically telling lawmakers: don’t ban us – regulate and tax us. In other words, make it official, create guardrails. As a platform provider, we support that approach – we’re ready to pivot from grey to white markets as needed. In short, the sweepstakes sector is under pressure, but I’d call it a maturation process. Sometimes industries have to weather a storm to emerge more legitimate on the other side.

EGR: Let’s talk technology. How is NuxGame leveraging AI or machine learning to improve the sweepstakes platform for both operators and players?

DK: I love this question, because AI isn’t just hype for us – it’s practical. We see AI and machine learning as a toolbox to make the whole experience smoother, safer and more personalised. On the player side, one huge impact is personalisation. AI can analyse player behaviour and preferences in real time, then automatically tailor the experience for each player. For example, if we see you’re a slots enthusiast who never touches table games, our system’s AI might highlight new slot titles or offer you a slots-focused promotion – basically giving you, ‘Hey, you might like this’, recommendations that actually hit the mark. It keeps players more engaged and happy because they feel the platform ‘gets’ them. We’re also using machine learning to adjust bonuses and offers dynamically – kind of like having a smart casino host for each player, but automated.

On the operator side, AI is a godsend for efficiency. A lot of what a platform does is pattern recognition and timely response, which AI excels at. Take customer support; we’ve integrated AI-driven chatbots that can handle common player inquiries 24/7. They answer questions about promotions (eg How do I claim my free coins?”), game rules, account issues, you name it – instantly and in multiple languages. That frees up human support staff to tackle the complex issues, while routine stuff is handled in seconds. We also deploy predictive analytics to help our operators with retention marketing. AI can crunch data to predict if a player is about to drop off, and trigger a tailored incentive or a well-timed email to re-engage them.

EGR: How does NuxGame differentiate itself from other platform providers in such a competitive and regulation-sensitive market?

DK: Our philosophy is to behave like a true partner, almost an extension of the operator’s team. That means being proactive and solution-oriented. For example, we strive to do what needs to be done, before you even have to ask, as our CEO is fond of saying. Feature-wise, we differentiate by being highly customisable, yet stable. We’ve invested heavily in our core platform infrastructure so that even as we bolt on custom features or scale up for growth, the system remains rock solid. Another differentiator in the sweepstakes vertical is localisation and configurability. Our back office lets operators adjust a ton of parameters on the fly without needing a developer.

Finally, we differentiate on support. In a sensitive sector like this, when an operator calls, you answer – fast. We provide 24/7 support and a very high-touch service model. In a market full of big, sometimes impersonal tech providers, our difference is being the down-to-earth partner that actually delivers what we promise: a fast, reliable, operator-first platform with no pretences.
