Lake Ozark, Missouri

The Board of Aldermen has endorsed an Osage Nation plan for a casino and hotel on 27 acres at Bagnell Dam Boulevard and Osage Beach Parkway, Missouri, US, alongside a second proposal from private investors for a casino near the Osage River.

The Osage Nation project includes a casino, hotel, sports bar, restaurant and meeting space, with construction contingent on federal approval to place the land into trust. The Nation will contribute 2.5% of casino adjusted gross revenue, a one per cent hotel resort fee, and $100,000 annually for police services, in addition to standard utility payments.

The development will be built in phases, with the first stage delivering the main casino, hotel rooms and core amenities once approval from the U.S. Department of the Interior is secured. Further expansion will follow based on demand.

A separate private casino venture, supported by the city, is advancing plans through the Osage River Gaming Commission, with a renewed push for Missouri Gaming Commission certification in 2026. The project is being developed with Tegethoff Development, known for large-scale leisure and resort builds.

Both proposals have received strong local support, with officials highlighting their potential to drive visitor numbers and support economic growth across Lake Ozark and Osage Beach.
