Bet365 has launched its ‘Sub On Play On’ promotion in Italy, having rolled it out in the UK and over 20 other markets in March.
Following its launch earlier this year, the Stoke-on-Trent-headquartered firm confirmed the promotion would be introduced to additional markets in the future, with Italian customers the latest recipient.
Players will now be able to bet on football player props and see the wager roll over should the initial player be substituted during the game.
For example, if a player bets on Napoli’s Rasmus Højlund to score during a game and he is replaced by Romelu Lukaku, the same bet will apply to the new striker and, should he score, the bet pays out.
The feature is offered in several markets including first and last goalscorer, first player booked, player shots and player tackles.
It does not include extra time action or a penalty shootout, unless the bet is on an extra time market.
Previously, the iteration was called ‘Soccer Substitute Guarantee’, but that was pulled in February.
A statement by the operator read: “Bet365 is pleased to introduce Sub On Play On to its customers in Italy.
“This feature will enhance customer’s player market bets, allowing the bet to continue if a selected player is substituted.”
Several other operators offer a similar promotion to Sub In Play. William Hill has its ‘Impact Sub’ promotion, although that only applies to certain events including the Premier League.
Similarly, Paddy Power launched its Super Sub feature last March, which Flutter CEO Peter Jackson labelled as its “best-ever product launch to date for our UK and Ireland division”.
