The most recent figures released by the Kansas Lottery show that revenue dropped from $18.3 million during September 2024 to $8.2 million this year. The revenue saw a massive dip of 34% monthly when compared to August’s figure of $12.4 million.

The revenue saw a massive dip of 34% monthly when compared to August’s figure of $12.4 million. However, on a yearly basis, Kansas’ sports wagering handle rose by 14% from $248.9 million to $283.7 million in September, and also increased monthly from $189.8 million in August. In September, Kansas’s total taxes on retail and online betting fell to $821,562. Online betting accounted for $277.6 million of the September handle and for $7.6 million of the total revenue.
In September, retail sportsbooks in Kansas handled $6.1 million in bets, bringing in $607,693 in revenue. On the online side, DraftKings led the way for total wagers with $118.4 million, followed by FanDuel with $89 million. But when it came to revenue, FanDuel came out on top, generating $4.2 million compared to DraftKings’ $1.9 million.
