Renovation to include new restaurant and sports bar
The Joa Casino in Gérardmer is preparing to open a new chapter in its history. The Vosges-based casino will undergo a major €3m renovation project with groundbreaking set to begin on December 1.
Renewed for a 15-year term in Gérardmer in June 2023, the Lyon-based group sees this project, focused on conviviality and entertainment, as a key step in its Open Generation Casino strategy, aimed at supporting the upgrading of its establishments to make them true leisure destinations, open to all.
“Beyond gaming, the establishment will offer a diverse range of restaurants, cinema, and entertainment, helping to strengthen the tourist and cultural appeal of Gérardmer and its surrounding area,” the Joa group stated.
First and foremost, this work includes a complete renovation of the Le Comptoir restaurant, with its large bay windows overlooking Lake Gérardmer, to offer a completely reinvented culinary experience. Similarly, the creation of a Sports Bar, designed as a true “temple of conviviality,” dedicated to broadcasting sporting events and organizing a variety of festive activities, is also planned. It is scheduled to open in May 2026. The renovation of the terrace, home to the Bar & Restaurant offerings, is also on the agenda. Finally, the modernization of the games area will complete this project in the summer of 2026.
At the end of the 2023-2024 financial year, according to Journal des Casinos, it generated gross gaming revenue of €9.81 million. This performance places it in 95th place in the French rankings.
