Underdog has bolstered its C-suite with a new CFO and chief marketing officer (CMO) ahead of hitting $500m in revenue for 2025.

Firstly, former X (then Twitter) vice-president of corporate development and strategy Rishi Garg has joined as finance chief.

Garg moves to the sports betting and DFS firm having served as a partner at Mayfield Fund since 2016.

He was Twitter’s vice-president of corporate development and strategy between May 2014 and August 2015.

Meanwhile, ex-Zynga and WB Games exec Kimberly Pointer Corbett has arrived as CMO from Fortis Games, where she served as chief publishing officer.

She spent more than six years at WB Games across vice-president and senior vice-president roles and prior to that had stints with Zynga and Kabam.

Underdog, which has an online sports betting operation in North Carolina and a significant DFS presence, has also partnered with Crypto.com to launch prediction markets in the US.

The privately owned business said Garg and Pointer Corbett’s arrivals would be “central to Underdog’s mission of driving growth by building authentic, lasting engagement with sports fans”.

Underdog raised $70m in a Series C funding round in March, which valued the company at $1.2bn.

Liz Marro previously served as Underdog’s CMO between January 2022 and April 2025, while Dustin Cooper was the finance boss from May 2020.

Jeremy Levine, Underdog CEO and founder, said: “Our formula to win is simple: invest in people and product, and we bring in leaders who know what it takes to build the type of company we want to be.

“Throughout their careers, Rishi and Kimberly have done it, demonstrating the ability to build some of the most globally successful consumer brands. We have ambitious goals and we’re building the team to take us there.”

Garg added: “From day one at Underdog, I could feel that the energy here is different. After only five years, Underdog is growing fast and is beloved by fans.

“Right now, we have a pivotal opportunity to be a great consumer company and build the essential daily companion to the American sports fan, and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Pointer Corbett noted: “Underdog has amazing talent and is positioned to be the biggest company in the space with what they’ve built for sports fans. The company has an unwavering focus on the fan experience and a one-of-a-kind media ecosystem that makes it a unique place.

“I am thrilled to join the team, and I can’t wait to build on Underdog’s strong foundation to reach new heights.”
