Merkur Spielbanken NRW has celebrated the topping-out ceremony for its new location in Siegburg, just five months after the groundbreaking ceremony. This completes a central construction phase. The opening of the casino is scheduled for autumn 2026.
“With today’s topping-out ceremony, we are right on schedule. The progress of construction shows that our project team and the companies involved are doing an excellent job. We are looking forward to being able to present the Siegburg location as another highlight in our casino portfolio next year,” explained David Schnabel, CEO of Merkur Casinos. Stefan Rosemann, Mayor of the City of Siegburg, also expressed himself positively during the celebrations: “The new building of the Merkur Casino creates jobs, strengthens the business location and at the same time offers an attractive range of leisure activities beyond the city limits. The fact that the construction work for the casino is progressing according to plan is a good signal for Siegburg.”
The promised construction progress is visible: the shell has been completed and the façade is taking shape. The characteristic curves and modern façade elements already show how the building fits into the cityscape. With the shell completed, the interior work will now start soon. In the coming months, the technical building installations, the room layouts and the design of the play and guest areas will be implemented. Those responsible attach great importance to innovatively designing the furnishings in order to enable guests to have a pleasant stay later on and at the same time to create a safe and appealing environment. “The interior design is crucial for our guests to experience a casino that offers modern entertainment in a unique service atmosphere,” says David Schnabel.
