Bet365 is excited to announce it has secured a license from the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency to begin offering online sports betting in the state.

Already serving major players like FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM, Maryland becomes the 15th U.S. state for bet365, following recent launches in Kansas, Tennessee, and Illinois. The company first entered the American market in New Jersey and has since expanded into Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Indiana, Arizona, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

With this approval, Bet365 becomes Maryland’s 12th licensed mobile sportsbook.

Sports betting in Maryland

Maryland’s sports betting industry has grown rapidly. In July, bettors wagered $364.1 million. Since mobile betting went live in November 2022, total wagers have surpassed $15 billion, producing $1.7 billion in revenue and close to $185 million in state tax contributions. The law permits up to 60 mobile sportsbook licenses, though experts doubt the state will reach that number.

In addition to its Maryland approval, bet365 announced in August a partnership with Inspired Entertainment to expand its virtual sports offerings. Later this year, in December 2025, Bet365 plans to launch its offering also in Missouri.
