GiG Software CEO Richard Carter has said the business will shift its focus from sweepstakes due to the “change in market environment”.
Speaking on the supplier’s Q2 earnings call, Carter confirmed the firm has removed five planned launches with sweepstakes operators from its pipeline for the remainder of 2025.
Instead, the business will focus on growing regulated markets, with Brazil being cited as its key target.
GiG Software said its entry into Brazil had been brought forward from H2 2026, with plans to go live before the end of this year with a new “tier-one partner”.
The pivot away from sweepstakes is expected to result in a €2m (£1.7m) hit to Q2 2025 revenue and a €4.5m impact in 2026.
However, the launch in Brazil and other undisclosed “bigger clients” coming into play should add €6m to full-year 2026 revenue.
GiG Software unveiled its SweepX platform in May 2024 and went live with Primero in January 2025.

In the same month, the supplier penned three other partnerships in the sweepstakes sector. It is not clear if those unnamed partners have been struck from the launch pipeline.
Carter added: “What’s the point of wasting resource and time launching into sweepstakes with partners we’re not so sure about?
“Why would you not prioritise a growing regulated market like Brazil with a tier-one operator that wants to spend a lot of money on marketing and have the ability to significantly generate more revenue than those five launches alone wouldn’t have done? When you look at it like that, I don’t think it’s a very difficult decision to make.
“We’re still going to launch some sweepstakes customers, but we’ve just taken the view that we only want to work with the best of the best, which reduces our risk.
“We’ve taken sweepstakes out of the pipeline, but we’re actually adding higher quality, bigger clients into it. The pipeline remains strong and is growing nicely.”
The shift in attitude comes amid growing regulatory pressure against sweepstakes in the US, with several states banning the vertical.
Several sweepstakes firms have also been subject to cease-and-desist orders across the US, including High 5 and Stake.US.
