The Dutch Gambling Authority Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has stepped up its oversight of license holders’ control databases. The KSA oversees online gambling to ensure it is run responsibly, reliably, and transparently, including monitoring the control databases (CDBs) used by license holders. Recently, all active license holders were subject of automated data quality checks by the authority.
The Dutch Gambling Authority Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has stepped up its oversight of license holders’ control databases.
The KSA oversees online gambling to ensure it is run responsibly, reliably, and transparently, including monitoring the control databases (CDBs) used by license holders.
Recently, all active license holders were subject of automated data quality checks by the authority. One or more potential issues were identified by each check; the nature, severity, and frequency of these issues varied from operator to operator.
The Kansspelautoriteit commented on the issue:
“It is crucial that the data in the CDB is up-to-date, complete, reliable and verifiable. Only then can we effectively monitor compliance with the Betting and Gaming Act and other relevant laws and regulations.”
The KSA expects license holders to address these problems quickly and efficiently. The authority will carry out new checks to confirm whether the issues have been resolved over the next quarter.
