PENN Entertainment has announced its plans to launch FanCenter, a new personalisation-driven product designed to strengthen the user experience for ESPN Bet players.

The new feature, which is expected to launch this summer, is a personalised hub situated within the ESPN Bet app that will enable users to find markets related to their favourite players and teams.

The hub is powered by ESPN and ESPN Bet’s account linking technology and aims to provide fans with “the ultimate interconnected media, betting and fantasy experience”.

Account linking was pushed out in November of last year, allowing players to track bets they had made on ESPN Bet via the ESPN app and desktop site.

FanCenter will also include a ‘For You’ page, featuring tailored content such as curated player props, customised game markets and parlay offerings.

The ‘For You’ page will be populated based on wagering history, favourite teams checked in the ESPN app and users’ fantasy rosters.

The product will be integrated with ESPN Bet’s player insights feature, which will allow users to make better informed decisions based on relevant player statistics.

ESPN Bet players will also be able to make bets on their own ESPN fantasy rosters via FanCenter’s Fantasy Bet Builder.

Alongside other fantasy sports-related offerings found within the new hub, the ESPN Fantasy app now features a ‘Find a Bet’ icon that will allow users to view markets related to their respective roster and add selections directly to an ESPN Bet betslip.

ESPN Bet’s FanCenter, which is still awaiting nationwide regulatory approval, includes quick view access to Mint Club promos and rewards, the operator’s exclusive reward scheme launched in April.

Aaron LaBerge, PENN Entertainment chief technology officer (CTO), hailed FanCenter as a product that will set ESPN Bet apart from its competitors.

“FanCenter introduces a completely new level of personalisation for ESPN Bet players and represents our biggest product leap yet,” he explained.

“It taps into our players’ fandom in smart, creative ways while connecting seamlessly with ESPN’s industry-leading fantasy football platform. This is what sets ESPN Bet apart and football season is the perfect time to roll it out.”

Mike Morrison, ESPN Bet and ESPN Fantasy vice-president, added: “FanCenter is the perfect combination of fandom, fantasy and personalised betting all wrapped into the ESPN Bet betting experience.

“FanCenter showcases how we can serve fans across our platforms in a way that nobody else in the market can because of our industry-leading ESPN Fantasy platform and account-linking capabilities.”

Speculation over the future of ESPN Bet continues to linger, with parent company PENN Entertainment weighing up whether to part ways at the three-year break clause point of the 10-year deal, signed back in 2023.

Reports have suggested that ESPN and the NFL are closing in on deal which will see the broadcaster snap up the NFL’s media holdings in return for a stake in the business.

The Athletic has reported that stake could be as much as 10%. PENN is due to report its Q2 earnings on Thursday, 7 August.
