SkillOnNet has announced the impending relaunch of the Megaways Casino brand and website in the UK later this year.

A MegawaysCasino.com domain is currently live, displaying a message reading: “Official Megaways Casino Coming Soon”.

While the site is not yet live, it includes links to other SkillOnNet platforms such as PlayOJO, Bacana Play and Slots Magic.

The website’s FAQ section reads: “We’re just putting the finishing touches to our awesome game selection and getting our ducks in a row and we’ll be launching Megaways Casino in the UK very soon.

“Customer support via live chat and email will be available once the site launches.

“We know that even the most hardcore fan enjoys other slots and table games from time to time, so we’ll make sure there’s a great choice of casino games for you, when you want to mix things up a bit.”

According to the Gambling Commission, SkillOnNet’s licence does not cover the Megaways Casino domain at the time of writing.

When searching ‘Megawayscasino’ on the regulator’s business register database, no results are displayed.

EGR understands the initial roll out in the UK will be under SkillOnNet’s licence, before a further push into other global markets.

The operator said the teaser announcement was part of a strategy to “re-engage existing audiences while attracting new ones and staking a stronger claim in the evolving regulated markets”.

The Megaways slot mechanic, a random reel modifier which creates up to 117,649 ways to win on every spin on a slot game, was first developed by Big Time Gaming (BTG) in 2016.

Gamesys Group then partnered with BTG in February 2021 to launch the first iteration of the Megaways Casino platform in the UK.

The platform became part of Gamesys’ portfolio of online casinos which included Rainbow Riches Casino and Monopoly Casino, which debuted in 2019 and 2015, respectively.

Bally’s Corporation completed its £2bn acquisition of Gamesys Group in 2021.

In September 2023, Bally’s announced the launch of Bally Casino in the UK market as a replacement for Megaways Casino.

Megaways Casino was officially decommissioned on 17 September 2023.

Giordana Anticoli Kalifa, country manager for emerging markets at SkillOnNet, highlighted that the move is a “complete reinvention” of the Megaways Casino brand, rather than just a simple relaunch.

She said: “This isn’t just a comeback – it’s a complete reinvention. We’re building Megaways Casino with a bold new narrative and a brand identity that finally gives Megaways the destination it deserves.

“We can’t reveal too much just yet, but with SkillOnNet’s full tech stack and marketing firepower behind it, this relaunch is set to make waves. It’s not just another site – it’s a statement.”

Last week, PlayOJO launched its ‘It’s Alive’ marketing campaign, with ads set to be broadcast on TV and on-demand services across the UK.
